FINE ART PHOTOGRAPHY AND FINE ART

This work is about time, time that is real, time that is imagined, and the time that is in-between.  It is also connected to the things and the people that touch me and that keep me wondering about life: Karl Blossfeldt’s amazing photographs of plants that become ironwork gates and ornate architectural ornamentation, Art Nouveau and its seduction of lines and curves, Ptolemy, Kepler, Galilieo, Copernicus, DaVinci, Einstein, Darwin, Earnst Haeckel’s magnificent illustrations, the formal garden designs of Andre LeNotre, the writings of Rilke and Proust…  It is about space and divisions of space, time and possibilities of time, symbols and systems, light and shadows, the texture of things, passion, acceleration and stillness, physics, an old compass, the sea, the stories of Icarus and Atlantis, the hopefulness of Alchemy, and finally that fine line where the top of the sea and the bottom of the sky meet…where time falls away into infinite possibility.
